About AcademicOS

AcademicOS — the operating system for academic quality assurance.

Strengthening the processes that determine institutional outcomes — while preserving the human wisdom at the heart of educational excellence.

Mission

To equip academic institutions and aspiring leaders with the diagnostic frameworks, decision logic, and time-bound implementation paths required to operate the ten-process Academic Quality Assurance system with discipline and consistency.

Vision

An academic operating system — agentic, data-driven, and human-led — in which curriculum, delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement function as a single integrated cycle, and in which every recommendation is grounded in research and practice in the same paragraph.

Governance

AcademicOS is built on the principle that autonomous systems should accelerate human judgment, not replace it. Every agentic component in our architecture has a defined human escalation path; every recommendation we issue carries an accountable office and a measurement that will retire it.

The Founder

Prof. Ramesh Bhat is the founder of AcademicOS. He served as Vice Chancellor of SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University, and is a former faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. His more than four decades of academic and institutional experience in teaching and research and academic governance sit behind every framework, diagnostic, and decision protocol on this site.

He is the author of the forthcoming AcademicOS: Building the Operating System for Teaching Excellence, and the curator of the AcademicOS Chronicle — a manuscript of weekly reflections that grounds AcademicOS’s recommendations in lived institutional experience.

The AcademicOS Chronicle

AcademicOS represents a discipline of practice: research and practice in the same paragraph. Our recommendations draw from four years of weekly reflections compiled into the AcademicOS Chronicle — a scholarly manuscript that grounds every framework in lived institutional experience.
